While at Disney, Eddie was faced with the challenge of turning around the business of the Main Street clock shop. His solution was to start with the "wow" of a great product to make all the watches they sold seem unique. He proposed an artist to hand draw your favorite character on the face of the watch, personalized to you, and include the master sketch. The story of Main Street is that things were made by hand and you could see your watch assembled and drawn, right in the window. What a hit it proved to be, with a three month backlog of demand on it's first test run. So much so that the target price went from 80 to 250 dollars. The rest of the shop inventory enjoyed a 35% increase in sales. All because it started with a "wow." The Artisan Watch expanded to several parks and became a hit attraction for more than a decade.
