Aichi World's Fair 2001, Japan
We were hired to conceive two pavilion concepts for the Aichi World's Fair in Japan in 2001. The theme was "man and the environment." We proposed two concepts - Synthesis and Evolution.
One assumes we'd all love the power to see the effects of our own positive change. We constructed an "Hourglass" of LED for which each of us, like a grain of sand, pass through and conduct random images of nature, then proceed into a show that is a call to action. The second deals with the effects of Pangea and that we live in an ever changing world, with moving continent screens on a flat lake. They come together to form a theater that you eventually "board" and interact with each continent as it takes you to the opposite side.
